Summertime is here and what does that mean? Family road trip! Woo hoo! That’s right; me and wife are packing up the little nuggets and heading out on a great American adventure. Our destination? The City of Bridges, the City of Champions—Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!



Because I value the safety of my family, the absolute first thing on our to-do list is head over to “The Strip” and fit the kids with proper attire—Steelers, Pirates and Penguins gear, of course! And since shopping makes the kids (Okay, me) hungry, we’ll probably stop by the Primanti Brothers sandwich shop and grab a bite to eat. The family is committed to eating healthy throughout our road trip, but I fully intend to sample the local cuisine wherever we go. Perhaps I can forgo the chili cheese fries and coleslaw for the vegetable soup and go for the lighter fish sandwich, holding the cheese? Delicious, healthy and won’t send Mrs. Nugget into a high fat-fueled frenzy!

Next, we’ll make our way over through Schenley Park and eventually end our day enjoying the view from Mount Washington.
